Telus makes purchase of Wolf Medical

Telus Health Solutions looks set to take further steps into the wireless medical sector following the announcement it has bought out another company.

The firm has acquired Wolf Medical Systems, a company which specialises in the creation of electronic medical record services.

As the third largest wireless medical firm in Canada, Telus will now be able to offer a wider range of products as it continues with its push for more medical practitioners to make use of systems like smartphones and tablet devices.

The financial details of the sale have not been released but Wolf Medical founder Brendan will continue in his role by heading up the Telus Physician Solutions unit.

"Electronic medical records are an essential building block to an efficient healthcare system in Canada," said Paul Lepage, senior vice-president of Telus.

The University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust has recently announced it is seeking to take further steps into using wireless medical facilities by introducing AeroScout's asset tracking and management solution.
