Graham Maile Director of Strategic Consulting

Graham has 32 years experience in the telecommunications industry, much of which has been associated with the development and introduction of new digital communications systems.

Before joining Plextek Graham worked in R&D, management and business start-up roles at Philips Telecommunications, ERA Technology, PA Consulting Group, Generics Group and Quotient Communications. For the last 20 years, his experience has been at board level, in executive and non-executive roles.

In recent years, Graham has specialised in the application of his technical knowledge to the strategic development of telecommunications organisations, including manufacturers, network operators, investors and regulators. He is frequently consulted on matters of innovation and intellectual property and has been an expert in the Patent Court (High Court of Justice).

Graham is a board director of the Government-funded ICT Knowledge Transfer Network (ICT KTN) and technology specialist at Corbett Keeling, the corporate finance firm. He was chairman of UKTAG, the UK Third Generation Advisory Group, which advised the Government on policy matters relating to the definition, standardisation and implementation of 3G mobile systems. He was also the vice-chairman of the International Telecommunications Standards User Group, ITSUG.

Graham is a Natural Science and Electronics graduate with a PhD from the University of Cambridge. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, a Registered European Engineer, a Fellow of the Cambridge Philosophical Society, a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and a Member of the Institute of Directors.
