Example Projects
- Plextek worked closely with an innovative medical start-up company to develop a non-intrusive method for measuring lung function. The system projects a pattern of light onto a patient and then uses stereoscopic images to measure chest deflection.
- A high-definition, battery powered camera that uses advanced signal processing techniques to send video over cellular links was developed by Plextek's image processing team. The system has a number of medical applications such as enabling paramedics to send high quality pictures of trauma victims to doctors before arriving at hospital so that they can give the most appropriate treatment as soon as the patient arrives.
