Aerospace Design
Aerospace systems need to conform to the highest quality standards. Plextek has developed safety critical systems on projects that conform to DO-254 procedures and work with a software partner to provide DO-178B services.
We have developed military grade equipment that is in operation on some of the world's leading fighter jets. Our engineers have developed complete UAV platforms and we offer a range of design services from payload components through to propulsion systems.
Plextek has designed robust communications links and has developed advanced image processing techniques for surveillance and automatic sense and avoid systems.
Example Projects
- Plextek enabled a leading UK defence contractor to develop an engine ice protection system for the next generation of fighter aircraft. Our expertise in digital design for this type of safety critical application enabled our client to deliver a high quality sub-system to the prime engine contractor.
- Plextek designed and manufactured the Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) transponder module that is currently being used on a number of European fast jets. The units had to be designed within strict design rules and be capable of operating in harsh environments.
