Plextek is able to offer its considerable experience in programmable logic device (PLD) / field programmable gate array design (FPGA design) to bring effective solutions to its clients in a timely and cost effective manner. Our engineers are experienced in a wide range of technologies and applications. We are able to draw upon a large internal IP library and more importantly, "know how", to bring you the optimum programmable logic design solution for your application. This design expertise can be leveraged into your product developments either as stand alone PLD or FPGA design services, or within the development of a complete product. We are able to understand your requirements and ensure that we supply an FPGA implementation that will meet your needs.

  • DSP receiver for a Medical Telemetry System (a complex six FPGA and seven CPLD solution)

In order for Plextek to fully harness the power of modern programmable devices, a sound design methodology and flow is required supported by robust tools. Plextek is a member of the Mentor Graphics FAST programme. We utilise Mentor Graphics tools for our default logic design flows. However, if you have special requirements, we can usually accommodate them.

Our design methodologies are based on our considerable background in digital ASIC design. Our methods are structured, scaleable and manageable. We operate in an open and friendly manner. Plextek will provide you with sufficient material to ensure design longevity. If you wish, we are able assist with technology transfer into your own organisation, to allow you to conduct your own long term maintenance. You will have sufficient IP rights in order to maintain and evolve the design.

Our clients operate in numerous fields, including telecommunications, aerospace, defence and medical. Some of our designs have been qualified for Safety Critical applications. We are able to operate to either our own internal standards, or when necessary, to other mandated standards.
