Ian Murphy

Technical Director

Ian is a recognised expert in many areas of radio and communication systems design. He is the CTO of Plextek and in 1989 was one of the original co-founders. He has led several highly successful development projects including mesh networks, wireless local loop, defence and security products, Formula One telemetry and digital cordless telephony. His skills extend into the requirements of volume production and the associated automatic test equipment plus a background in mechanical and industrial design.

Ian previously worked in the aviation and communication industries, including several years in engineering design with Racal, Vodafone, Smiths Industries Aerospace, Plessey Avionics, and Ferranti. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical Engineers a member of the Institute of Directors, the Defence Industry Security Association and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (USA).
