Plextek takes key role at Wireless Broadband Forum

Plextek is exhibiting at this year’s Wireless Broadband Forum, the third annual conference of the Broadband Wireless Association (BWA). Liam Devlin, director of RF integration at Plextek, will chair the first day of the conference’s design forum, while Andy Dearn, Senior Technology Consultant, will give a presentation entitled ‘MMIC design for wireless broadband access’. The forum is being held at Hinxton Hall Conference Centre near Cambridge from 16-17 November.

Broadband wireless is the high-speed transmission of voice or data information over a wireless network. The forum addresses all forms of this technology, focusing on the business and technical issues, whether current or planned for the future. The event will include operator case studies, demonstrations and results from current research programmes. The conference includes three distinct streams: design, management and research.

The design forum will look at the issues faced by engineers who are designing and integrating the basic building blocks of broadband wireless systems, such as 3G and Ultrawideband. Market-leading companies and institutions will present papers that address a range of topics associated with the design and evaluation of components and systems.

“This is a key forum for the communications industry. Topics such as Ultrawideband are at the very forefront of current thinking and innovation,” commented Liam Devlin at Plextek. “As ever, the event’s location is an indication of the importance of Cambridge-based technology companies in the industry.”
