Tom Ross

Engineering Services Director

Tom has over 25 years experience in the mechanical design, processing and production of RF/electronic equipment for use in both satellite and terrestrial communications systems and heads the Engineering Services Group. The group is responsible for the manufacturing and mechanical design of Plextek’s hardware development projects, with the breadth and depth of skills to support all aspects of manufacturing design and production operations for electronics based products.

He previously worked as the Production Director of Aerial Facilities Ltd., with responsibility for all manufacturing operations for low/medium volume custom mobile communications hardware. Prior to that, he worked for eleven years with Com Dev Europe Ltd. As General Manager, he was responsible for company operations including the manufacture of high technology communication hardware for space, aerospace and cellular operation.

Tom has also worked for eight years with Matra Marconi Space. Tom is a Chartered Engineer and a member of both the I.E.E. and I.Mech. E., and has degrees in Aeronautical Engineering and Control Technology.
