The Brief

With our client, Sanandco, we developed a telephone handset that is equipped with integrated sensors to capture vital signs, including temperature, heart rate, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.

The Approach

Plextek scientists created a whole-system simulation to understand the limitations of the system and test our solution.

The monitoring system developed enabled the patient’s vital signs to be collected during a short telephone conversation with their care provider.

The product is easy to use and simply plugs into a standard telephone socket, needing no additional elements.

The Impact

The device is now in the final stages of development and working towards a CE Mark.

When fully implemented into the healthcare market it will dramatically demonstrate how simple, affordable medical technology can provide significantly better outcomes for early detection of health conditions and a more efficient health service.
