From physical products – to a connected business
CamelBak provides a range of innovative hydration packs, backpacks and water bottles. Its consumers know, when they buy CamelBak, they are purchasing a durable, high-quality product, but after purchase they may not interact with the brand for several more years. CamelBak wanted to understand how other natively ‘physical’ product companies successfully made the transition to complementary connected offerings; and how it should structure and guide its own innovation in connected products.
Through an Ignite Exponential Learning Exchange, we helped CamelBak distil a strategic framework for innovating connected devices, and for transitioning from a physical to ‘digitally connected’ organisation. Driving adoption of digital tools in farming
Our client is an international supplier of seeds and fertilizers. Its digital platform provides satellite mapping, weather and forecasting data that can dramatically reduce farmers’ costs and improve yields. It asked us to help it to find ways to drive adoption of its digital tools by sceptical farmers!
We mapped the farmers’ journey and identified the key barriers in their engagement with the platform – and, through a collaborative creative event, generated a portfolio of new ideas for driving digital adoption. Within a week of the workshop, the first ideas had been fast-tracked into the platform’s development pipeline, with a series of longer-term interventions to come.
