About the position
We are seeking a Business Development Lead who will take a key role in identifying and developing new commercial opportunities within Defence markets.
- Follow up opportunities by developing proposals and closing sales
- Support client management during project delivery
- Interact effectively with other internal departments, especially the technical teams, when engaging with clients and when handing over projects for execution
- Keep abreast of issues affecting the defence market
- Identify potential business partners for collaboration on large bids.
- Seek out and qualify new business leads through networking at industry events and tradeshows, working your existing contacts and cold calling
Profile
- Experienced in selling to Defence markets
- Proven success
- Familiarity with structured sales processes
- Account management experience
- Engineering/science background essential for credibility and to be able to take a technical briefing
- Able to grasp our capabilities and have and have technical and commercial competence to engage with clients
