Collaboration with Texas Instruments
High-performance mmWave solutions
Plextek has worked with Texas Instruments (TI) over many years on mmWave technology, utilizing a common platform with low size, weight, power consumption, and manufacturing costs (low-SWaP C) for future space missions. The mmWave radar IP includes high-efficiency antennas, increased gain and sensitivity, and environmental protection and redundancy mechanisms.
The collaboration between TI and Plextek has already been successful for a wide array of applications, including space-based applications. TI has developed high-performance mmWave solutions suitable for a broad range of applications, which Plextek and TI can effectively customize to meet a client’s highly specialized requirements

Technology Feasibility
Our multi-disciplinary engineering experience from developing hundreds of other systems in other industries means we’re well placed to help you to rapidly evaluate the potential and feasibility of a new technical design or system.
Proof of Concept
Plextek supports your project from early breadboard, flatsat and engineering model, through the extensive test and validation procedures needed before delivering final flight models.
Deployment
Once the preferred or optimal solution is clear we can develop complete products and systems – from the whiteboard to deployment – whilst ensuring integrity for the whole system.
Why you need radar for your Lunar Lander
Lunar Lander
Challenges for lunar landers include regolith and difficult lighting scenarios, obscuring vision of the landing terrain.
Radar sensors are crucial in navigating and overcoming these specific space challenges.
A suite of sensors provides full coverage, allowing for proactive obstacle avoidance manoeuvres.
