The Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Test and Measurement Technician to join our consultancy team based just south of Cambridge. This role involves hands-on testing of RF and electronic systems, supporting product development and validation through rigorous measurement and analysis. You will work closely with engineers across disciplines to ensure high-quality, reliable results that support our clients’ technical goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute test procedures in accordance with defined test plans.
- Operate RF test equipment including:
- Spectrum analysers
- Power meters
- Network analysers
- Signal generators
- Accurately document test results and observations in a clear and structured format.
- Assist in the development and automation of test procedures using scripting tools.
- Perform basic fault-finding and debugging of electronic circuits.
- Collaborate with design and systems engineers to interpret test results and suggest improvements.
Required Skills and Experience
- Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (spectrum analysers, power meters, network analysers, signal generators).
- Strong understanding of test methodologies and the ability to follow detailed test plans.
- Proficient in documenting test results and maintaining clear records. Including the use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Basic knowledge of electronics and circuit-level fault diagnosis.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or similar) for test automation is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
